WHO Global Service Centre is an integral part of WHO’s global strategy in helping WHO to deliver its global mandate and implement its programmes in a timely and cost effective manner. The Global Service Centre provides administrative services to all staff and all WHO offices worldwide in respect of human resources, payroll, procurement, accounts payable and support of specific corporate IT applications.
Internal Management and Support Services at the Centre Support Office, comprising of 4 teams (Human Resources, Admin Services, Business Operations and Budget and Finance, Medical Services), encompasses all the management, administrative and logistical activities required to enable the global delivery of HR, Procurement and Finance services by GSC.
Global finance services
The Finance Department handles the full range of invoice payments, supplier management, travel, award management and payroll services.
Global human resources
The Human Resources Unit handles a variety of employee related administrative functions to WHO staff. These include contract issuance and maintenance and administrative entitlements.
Global procurement and logistics
WHO global procurement team offers an array of procurement services addressing the essential need of the organization within the scope of Goods, Services procurement processing and global contracts.
Global IT Operations
Global IT Operations team provides user and system support with staff based in Kuala Lumpur. The team is composed of 4 sub-teams: Global Service Desk, Application Development, Corporate Applications Support and Infrastructure and Shared Services. These teams empower and assist WHO staff globally to perform their functions effectively and efficiently. They also provide application development and support for technical and administrative units. Finally they monitor the infrastructure to ensure our systems are always available and initiate remedial actions in case of service failures.
