Scientific advice on foodborne antimicrobial resistance
In recognition of the growing problem of antimicrobial resistance, its increasing threat to human, animal and plant health, and the need for a One Health approach, the 39th Session of the Codex Alimentarius Commission agreed to re-establish the ad hoc Codex Intergovernmental Task Force on Antimicrobial Resistance (TFAMR) in 2016. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO) provide scientific advice, in collaboration with the World Organisation of Animal Health (OIE), in the areas of foodborne antimicrobial resistance.
