Effective infection prevention and control (IPC) requires constant action and coordination at all levels of the health system, from policy-makers to facility managers, health workers and those who access the health services. Although often hidden from public attention, the endemic, ongoing problem of health care-associated infections (HAIs) is very real and no institution or country can afford to ignore it. WHO has demonstrated that communication and information-sharing are huge steps leading to taking action in the approach to HAI prevention. One easy way to be informed is to read on WHO IPC news, meetings and events information.
