Medicines for children
In recent years, there has been much work done to advance research and development , regulation, supply and access to and use of medicines for children. New dosage forms of paediatric tuberculosis medicines and formulations of paediatric malaria and antiretroviral medicines have been developed and introduced. However, hurdles such as regulatory capacity, affordability and patient and caregiver acceptance still hinder access to safe and appropriate medicines for children. In addition, research is still needed to define appropriate dosages and formulations for other essential medicines for children.
