  • The International Partnership for Microbicides is dedicated to improving the health of women and girls by developing safe and effective tools for them to protect themselves from HIV/AIDS and unintended pregnancy. HIV/AIDS is the leading cause of death for women of a reproductive age, one of the leading causes of death for pregnant women and mothers and a major barrier to global efforts to reduce maternal mortality. By accelerating the development of microbicides, engaging with advocates and global health leaders to raise awareness and partnering at the local and national level in developing countries, IPM is building health research infrastructure and working toward a future where women have the tools they need to take charge of their reproductive health.
