Violence against women and girls (VAW) is a major public health and human rights issue, with sexual violence (SV) and intimate partner violence (IPV) being among the most pervasive.

The meeting aimed to review current evidence and models of provision of care and address the range of challenges identified in providing services for victims of violence against women, particularly intimate partner and sexual violence, in order to initiate the process of developing guidelines for the health sector response to these problems.
