Who we are

The WHO Department of Global TB Programme is part of the Cluster for HIV, TB, Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases (HTM).

What we do

The WHO Global TB Programme aims to advance universal access to TB prevention, care and control, guide the global response to threats, and promote innovation.

Where we work

The Department of HIV/AIDS and the Global Hepatitis Programme is located in WHO headquarters in Geneva, working in close cooperation with other departments. It also coordinates WHO's HIV and hepatitis activities conducted through units at regional and country offices.

Adoption and implementation of the WHO TB Strategy

The World Health Assembly, convened annually by WHO at the UN Palais des Nations in Geneva, passed a resolution in May 2014 approving with full support the new post-2015 Global TB Strategy with its ambitious targets.

Global tuberculosis report 2018

The 2018 edition of the global TB report was released on 18 September 2018, in the lead up to the first-ever UN High Level Meeting on TB on 26 September 2018.
