Yaws eradication


Momentum for the renewed WHO-led eradication effort is growing and NGOs traditionally involved in skin NTDs such as Buruli ulcer and leprosy keen to collaborate the eradication of yaws.

In terms of research, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, the University of Washington in Seattle, the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK, the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, in Kumasi, Ghana, the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research inAccra, Ghana, the Papua New Guinea Institute of Medical Research, and the Barcelona Institute of Global Health in Barcelona, Spain are currently collaborating with WHO.
